Outpatient Services

Daviess Community Hospital's Behavioral Health Service provides intensive, structured outpatient services for those that can benefit from therapeutic services. Our multi-disciplinary treatment team provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of behavioral disorders in an environment that fosters positive change. Possible activities for the patient could include individual counseling, medication management, group therapy, family therapy and behavior management.

Tristan HattanTristan Hattan, PMHNP-BC has been a nurse for over 11 years, specializing in behavioral health. She focuses on: Medication Management, Nursing Home Therapy and Outpatient Therapy. Anyone may make a referral to the DCH Behavioral Health Services.

Sherri MathiesSherri Mathies, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She has a background in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry.

She provides medical management for ages 6 through adult. She has experience in childhood and adolescent ADHD, depression, and anxiety.

Jan Watkins, LSW, MSW, began her career in behavioral health in 1997. She received her undergraduate degree from Indiana State University and began working for a community mental health system. Jan later earned her Masters of Social Work degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and joined the behavioral health team at Daviess Community Hospital's Transitions Outpatient Behavioral Health Services in 2021. Jan sees clients aged 18 and older and applies a range of therapeutic interventions, including methods of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT).

Adolescent Therapy (up to 18)

Jennie SellsHaving a child who is going through a tough time with their mental health can be difficult. Many parents wonder what is going on and try to fix the problem themselves. What's going on with your child may not have anything to do with you, but you can take steps to help them out.

At DCH our experienced therapist, Jennie Sells, LSW, is passionate about children. Whether they are struggling with a past experience or dealing with anger management, she will help them get through it.

Inpatient Behavioral Unit – Geriatric Care (55+)

Transitions specializes in mental health care and services for geriatric patients. Both inpatient and outpatient services are provided under the direction of a full time psychiatrist. Our treatment team is well established in the therapeutic community and offers patients a host of resources that may be beneficial for treatment. We provide patients with a compassionate, nonjudgmental ear— the sharing of your experiences with others can be a tremendous source of relief and aid in your overall recovery.

This program involves several daily scheduled activities, some or all of which you may be asked to participate in. Services are provided by a team of highly qualified professionals, including a physician, nurses, mental health techs, and therapists.

While in the program, we ask that you attend all prescribed activities/groups on a regular basis. In addition, we ask that you participate in the program by interacting with your peers in a helpful manner and maintaining a clean, neat and safe unit environment.
