33rd Annual DCHF Golf Benefit Raises over $47,000 for Patient-Focused Programs

WASHINGTON, Ind. (September 07, 2026) – The 33rd Annual Daviess Community Hospital Foundation (DCHF) Golf Benefit, held Thursday, Sept. 3rd, at Washington Country Club in Washington, Indiana, raised more than $47,000 to support local health care programs that directly benefit patients throughout the region.

Proceeds from the event will support DCH Foundation initiatives, including the DCH Women’s Center, which opened in April 2026.

The event brought together 100 golfers, dozens of sponsors and numerous volunteers for a day centered on giving, connection and community. Participants could choose between morning and afternoon flights, with each group playing a nine-hole round. All participants enjoyed lunch in the air-conditioned dining room at Ironwood Social as the morning flight completed its round and before the afternoon flight’s shotgun start. Each flight concluded with an awards reception.

“This year was certainly a change from the last several years,” said Angie Steiner, Director of the DCH Foundation. “We moved the event from an 18-hole course to a nine-hole course, which also resulted in extensive communication with all of our teams and sponsors. We are incredibly grateful to Skip, Kacey and the entire Washington Country Club crew for accommodating us this year.”

Steiner said the event was also moved from its traditional first week in August in hopes of experiencing cooler temperatures. Instead, players faced extreme September heat, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.

“With the extreme temperatures, having an air-conditioned dining room and iced-down water and Gatorade available for our players became a priority,” Steiner said.

Despite the heat and changes to the event format, golfers and sponsors responded positively. Many commented on the opportunity to network with vendors, business associates and other local supporters while enjoying a day on the course.

“We are so thankful to everyone who made this event possible,” Steiner said. “From our golfers and sponsors to our volunteers and the Washington Country Club team, everyone played an important role in making this year’s benefit a success. Most importantly, their generosity will help us continue supporting health care initiatives that make a difference for patients and families in our community.”

• First place (morning flight) was awarded to the team from TM Office Solutions: Tucker McPherson, Darin Lunsford, Jason McCleese, and Brent May.
• First place (afternoon flight) was awarded to the team from Washington Country Club; Skip Pace, Austin Deem, Mark Smith, and Ronnie Mattingly.
• Second place (morning flight) went to Blue and Co.: Jordan Rose, Marcus Collins, Miles Matthews, and Aaron Blake.
• Second place (afternoon flight) went to Home Building Savings Bank (Team 2): Tony Johnson, Steve Mize, Donald Johnson Jr, and Lyndon Graber.
• Third place (morning flight) went to Paradigm: Dr. Otto Susec, Dr. Marcus Obeius, Dr. Chris Manger, and Dr. Tom Weinzapfel.
• Third place (afternoon flight) went to NASCO: Jordan Sherman, Zach Smith, Nathan Wildridge, and Nick Cosby.

This year’s event featured a “PINK Par-TEE” theme where players were encouraged to incorporate this color into their golf attire. The winning team, chosen by volunteers at the event, was Shake Broadcasting, LLC.

The event was organized by committee members Mindy Henrichsen, Derek Johnson, Joel Montgomery, Jordan Berry, and Angie Steiner, with the support of numerous volunteers and community donors.
