Congratulations Jenny on being named the 2026 Q3 DAISY Award Winner!

Heather Tredway, House Supervisor, shared the following in her nomination:

“We had an elderly patient come into the ER and code around 2220. It was a lengthy code and the patient did not fly out until 0130. The patient was passing through Washington with her spouse as they were on a long road trip with their camper and we were the closest ER. The patient’s spouse was also elderly and extremely concerned about being able to find Deaconess. Apparently, the wife was the navigator of the trip, and he was the driver. In speaking to the husband, he asked if I knew of anyone he could pay to lead him to the next hospital. EMS had printed him a map and I programmed the address into his cell phone map but he was still apprehensive. It was late, dark, and unfamiliar area, and he was shaken after seeing his wife code. I reached out to a few people I thought might be interested, and no one was available. Jenny had stayed over until we got the patient stabilized and she tried reaching out to people as well, but no one was available. After working her shift, and staying over to help her coworkers, Jenny then led the husband to Deaconess Midtown. Jenny led him to a gas station and made sure he filled up his tank and made sure he made it into the ER and was settled before she left him. Jenny did all of this free of charge, out of the kindness of her heart.”
