Daviess Community Hospital welcomes first employed board-certified OB-GYN, Michael Ryskin, MD, FACOG, to the medical staff

Daviess Community Hospital is proud to welcome Michael Ryskin, MD, FACOG, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with decades of experience in women’s health and maternity care. Dr. Ryskin will officially join DCH as the first employed OB-GYN in April 2026, where he will provide comprehensive OB-GYN services for patients across Daviess County and the surrounding region.

Recently, Dr. Ryskin has been filling shifts at DCH until he transitions to full-time in April.

“Dr. Ryskin brings extensive knowledge and skill to our women’s services provided today, and his leadership will take womens’ services to a new level,” said Justin D. Harris, MSHA, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Daviess Community Hospital. “He will be the first OB-GYN employed directly by DCH, marking a major milestone in the growth of our women's health services. With his experience and dedication, we are strengthening our ability to offer personalized, high-quality care close to home.”

Dr. Ryskin provides care across the full spectrum of women’s health, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, gynecologic procedures, contraceptive counseling, and menopause management. His clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and evidence-based preventive care. His arrival expands DCH’s growing team of maternity and gynecology specialists dedicated to improving access and outcomes for women in southwestern Indiana.

“Joining DCH feels like the perfect opportunity to continue delivering the kind of care I believe in—personalized, thorough, and community-focused,” Dr. Ryskin said. “I’ve worked in many hospitals across the country, and it’s rare to find the level of teamwork, respect, and genuine commitment to women’s health that exists here.”

Originally trained in Moscow, Dr. Ryskin earned his medical degree with honors from the Medical University of the State of Russia. After immigrating to the United States, he completed ECFMG certification and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Queens Hospital Center in New York, an affiliate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).

Throughout his career, Dr. Ryskin has served in both private practice and hospital-based care settings in Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado. He has held leadership roles including Chief of Staff, Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Clinical Instructor at Indiana University and Brown University.

Dr. Ryskin will begin seeing patients starting April 2026. Appointments may be scheduled beginning March 2026 by calling 812-254-2760 or visiting www.dchosp.org/women.
