Daviess Community Hospital launches EMS Services
(Washington, IN) – Daviess Community Hospital is pleased to announce beginning July 15, 2019, DCH EMS will begin providing 911 coverage to Daviess County residents.
On July 1st, DCH EMS began staffing one ambulance during the daytime hours. This crew has been doing some inter-facility transfers of patients from DCH. During this timeframe, the staff have also been in training as well as verifying equipment and supplies that are needed for each ambulance in preparation to begin covering the county’s 911 needs.
“This soft start has been very intentional and has proved successful in allowing our new service to work out the bugs and get additional staff on-boarded”, remarked Keith Miller, Chief Operating Officer at Daviess Community Hospital.
Additional details on our new EMS service include:
- Four full-time crews in the following locations – two crews in Washington (stationed at Daviess Community Hospital), one crew in Odon, and one crew in Cannelburg.
- Garage bays and living quarters for the Cannelburg and Odon locations will be completed in the near future.
- All stations will be staffed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
- Requests for emergency ambulance transport should be made by dialing 911, and will be taken in and dispatched by the dispatch centers in the county. These include Washington Police Department for 911 calls originating from within the city and Daviess County Sherriff department for 911 calls originating from the county.
- Requests for non-emergent ambulance transport can be made by dialing 812-254-1060.
The leadership team for DCH EMS includes Teddy Cline - Director, Dr. Chris Nixon - Physician Medical Director, and Ashley Burch – Coordinator. For questions regarding DCH EMS services, please call 812-254-2760.
