About Marcus

Marcus A. Kurucz, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon at Washington Surgical Associates and the Wound Care Center at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Indiana. He provides advanced, patient-centered wound care and general surgery services—including robotic-assisted procedures with the Da Vinci Xi® Surgical System by Intuitive—for patients throughout southern Indiana.

Dr. Kurucz has been caring for individuals and families as a general surgeon since 2006, building trusted relationships and working to help each patient achieve the best possible outcomes.

His practice encompasses a wide range of general surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, trauma care, and wound management. Dr. Kurucz is known for his attentive approach—taking the time to listen to his patients, answer questions, and guide them through every step of their surgical journey, from diagnosis to recovery.

Before joining Daviess Community Hospital, Dr. Kurucz cared for patients in both hospital and outpatient settings, including leadership roles as medical director of a busy outpatient surgery center and provider in a high-volume wound care center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Kurucz completed his surgical training at respected institutions including the Mayo Clinic, West Virginia University, the University of Connecticut, and Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
