About Andrew

Andrew Houchins, PA-C, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgery physician assistant at the Daviess Community Hospital CORE Center in Washington, Indiana. A retired Major in the U.S. Air Force, Andrew brings more than two decades of combined orthopedic surgery, operating room, and family medicine experience to his role.

Before joining DCH in 2018, Andrew served at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center in Ohio as a staff orthopedic physician assistant in a multi-surgeon practice. He evaluated and treated a wide range of conditions, including fractures, end-stage arthritis, musculoskeletal injuries, and trauma. He also served as program director for the Air Force Institute of Technology’s Physician Assistant Fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery, providing hands-on fracture management training, surgical first-assist experience, and advanced didactic instruction.

Andrew holds a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed an Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship for Physician Assistants through the same institution. He is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

His career includes significant leadership experience, inpatient and outpatient care expertise, and over 15 years of operating room work. In addition to multiple clinical achievements, Andrew has been recognized with numerous military honors, including the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal.
