Patient Responsibilities
At Daviess Community Hospital, we are committed to providing high-quality,
respectful care to every patient. To ensure the best possible healthcare
experience for everyone, we ask all patients to take an active role in
their care.
Understanding your responsibilities as a patient helps support safe, effective,
and compassionate treatment for you and others in our care. Please read
the responsibilities outlined below. This content is posted throughout

Your Responsibilities as a Patient
As a patient at Daviess Community Hospital, you have the responsibility:
- To provide, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete information
about present complaints, past illnesses and hospitalizations,
- To tell your doctor or nurse whether you clearly understand your medical
treatment and what is expected of you as a patient,
- To assume the consequences of your actions if you refuse treatment or do
not follow your doctor’s instructions,
- To assure that the financial obligations of your health care are fulfilled
as promptly as possible,
- To follow hospital rules and regulations relating to patient care and conduct,
- To be considerate of the rights of other patients and hospital personnel
in the control of noise, smoking, and the number of visitors, and to be
respectful of the property of other persons and the hospital.
Community Benefit Report
Daviess Community Hospital submits an
annual Community Benefit Report to the
Indiana State Department of Health, detailing the hospital’s contributions to the community. This includes:
- Unreimbursed care and services
- Outreach and educational programs
- Services for high-risk or underserved populations
