At Daviess Community Hospital, we are committed to making healthcare as accessible and affordable as possible. Our team is here to help you understand hospital charges, insurance billing, and available financial support options so you can focus on your recovery—not your medical bill.
What’s Included in Your Daily Hospital Rate
Your hospital stay includes the basic daily rate, which covers:
- 24-hour nursing care
- Nutrition services
- Housekeeping services
- Linens
This daily rate does not include specialized services your provider may order, such as:
- Operating room procedures
- Anesthesia
- Physical therapy
- Imaging and X-rays
- Laboratory tests
- Medications
- Other diagnostic or therapeutic services
Physician & Specialist Billing
Physician and specialist fees are not included in your hospital bill. These services are billed separately by your personal provider and any consultants involved in your care. You or your insurance provider will be responsible for paying those charges directly.
Insurance Billing Process
After you are discharged, Daviess Community Hospital will submit claims to your insurance provider as quickly as possible. We will:
- File the claim on your behalf
- Provide all necessary information for processing
- Begin insurance follow-up within 30 days
You are responsible for any remaining balance, including co-insurance and deductibles. If your insurance denies or delays payment, full payment of your account balance may be expected at that time.
Uninsured Patients and Pre-Registration
If you do not have health insurance:
- Payment or financial arrangements are expected prior to registration
- Emergency care will not be delayed
- Non-emergency treatment may be postponed until arrangements are made in coordination with your physician
Payment Methods
We accept the following forms of payment:
- Cash
- Personal check
- Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express
Meet with a Financial Counselor
Daviess Community Hospital has a dedicated financial counselor available to speak confidentially with you or a family member. We can:
- Discuss your payment options
- Help you apply for Medicaid
- Assist you with our Financial Assistance Program
Financial Assistance Program
If you are uninsured or underinsured and unable to pay your medical bill, you may qualify for help through our Financial Assistance Program. Eligibility is based on income, family size, and other financial factors.
We provide an application to any individual acting on behalf of the patient who has reasonable belief that the patient may qualify for uncompensated care.
