About the Procedure

Laparoscopic sterilization—often called “getting your tubes tied”—is a minimally invasive procedure that provides permanent birth control. It is typically performed under general anesthesia using small incisions in the abdomen. Most patients are able to return home the same day.

A Regional Commitment to Women’s Health

This partnership enhances access to trusted, hospital-based surgical care for patients across Daviess, Dubois, and surrounding counties—ensuring women in Southern Indiana have a local, coordinated care option when considering permanent contraception.

“When patients can stay close to home for care, surrounded by people and providers they trust, outcomes and experiences improve,” said Harris. “That’s what this partnership is all about—delivering high-quality surgical care through seamless collaboration, and making it easier for women in Southern Indiana to access the services they deserve.”
