Meet Jill Sluder, FNP-C: Leading Surgical Services with Heart and Expertise

At Daviess Community Hospital, delivering high-quality, compassionate care begins with strong leadership—and that’s exactly what Jill Sluder, FNP-C, brings to her new role as surgical services manager.

Effective Aug. 3, Jill took the helm of DCH’s surgical services department, bringing more than eight years of experience in surgical nursing and a deep passion for serving her southern Indiana community. Her experience spans operating room care and advanced practice, having worked at St. Vincent Evansville, in DCH’s own OR, and currently as a nurse practitioner at Washington Surgical Associates.

“Jill is known for her calm presence, surgical expertise and commitment to patients,” said Jenna Bedwell, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer at DCH. “We’re thrilled to have her leading our surgical team forward.”

Jill’s appointment reinforces the hospital’s mission to offer advanced surgical care close to home. DCH’s general surgery department provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient procedures—including robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Xi® Surgical System. These include:

Jill, a lifelong southern Indiana native, says she’s honored to lead a department so central to the health of the community. Outside of work, she enjoys raising her two daughters, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
