Daviess Community Hospital Spreads Holiday Joy Through Jubilee Christmas Donations

Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) employees are once again helping make the holidays brighter for local families by supporting Jubilee Christmas, a holiday assistance program coordinated by CONNECTIONS in partnership with churches, schools, businesses and civic organizations across Daviess County.

This year, the DCH Foundation coordinated the hospital’s participation in the program, which supports more than 500 children from birth through age 15. Throughout November, DCH employees selected ornaments from giving trees located in the hospital lobby and CORE Center waiting room, each representing a child in need. Employees donated unwrapped gifts and monetary contributions to ensure children across the county receive a joyful holiday experience.

“Jubilee Christmas is a truly meaningful way for our team to live out the DCH mission and give back to the community we serve,” said Angie Steiner, Director of the DCH Foundation and Director of Patient Satisfaction and Service Excellence. “We are proud to participate in this program each year, and we’re incredibly grateful to all the DCH staff who gave generously of their time, hearts, and resources. It’s one more way we show that we care.”

Jubilee Christmas provides parents of children ages 1 to 10 with the opportunity to choose and wrap three gifts for each child, allowing families to create cherished holiday memories together. Infants under age 1 receive a baby gift and diaper voucher. For older children ages 11 to 15, volunteers accompany them on a shopping trip with a set amount of money to spend on clothing and personal items. All participating families also receive vouchers for food, hygiene products, and household essentials.

The Jubilee Christmas celebration will take place December 16–17 at Bethany Christian Church in Washington. DCH leadership and staff delivered donations ahead of the event to help ensure every child referred to the program experiences the joy of the season.

“Supporting local children and families through programs like Jubilee Christmas strengthens the heart of our community,” Steiner said. “At DCH, we believe healthcare is about more than medicine—it’s about people. And this is one way we can share hope and kindness during the holiday season.”
