About Valerie

Valerie Dyer, FNP-C, CWS, OMS, CFCS, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in advanced wound care, ostomy management, and foot care at the Daviess Community Hospital Wound Care Center in Washington, Indiana. She is committed to helping patients heal, manage complex conditions, and improve their quality of life through compassionate, evidence-based care.

Valerie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner focus, from Indiana Wesleyan University. She brings more than a decade of acute care and clinical experience in gastroenterology and medical-surgical nursing. Prior to joining the Wound Care Center, she served as a nurse practitioner for Washington Surgical Associates.

She holds multiple specialty certifications, including Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) in 2022, Ostomy Management Specialist (OMS) in 2023, and Certified Foot Care Specialist (CFCS) in 2024. Her expertise allows her to deliver advanced treatments and education for patients with chronic wounds, ostomies, and complex foot health needs related to wound healing and recovery.

Valerie is known for her patient-focused approach—taking time to listen, educate, and guide each patient through their care plan.

Outside of work, Valerie enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and reading.
