About Steven

Dr. Steven Perkins is a board-certified internal medicine physician providing hospitalist care at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Indiana. With more than a decade of inpatient experience, he specializes in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions for hospitalized adults, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care from admission through discharge.

Dr. Perkins is known for his commitment to safe, coordinated care, ensuring that patients and families understand each step of the hospital journey. He collaborates with physicians, specialists, nurses, and case managers to develop individualized treatment plans and facilitate smooth transitions after hospitalization.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. His postgraduate education also includes a master’s degree in cellular and molecular physiology from Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Science in nuclear medicine from Indiana University Bloomington.

Before joining Daviess Community Hospital, Dr. Perkins served as Director of Hospitalist Services and Chief of Internal Medicine at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Indiana, and most recently worked at IU Health Bedford. His diverse medical background also includes radiology and transitional year training through Indiana University-affiliated hospitals.

Dr. Perkins is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds an active Indiana medical license.
