Megan A. Stevenson, M.D., MPH, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon at Washington Surgical Associates, a part of Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Indiana. Dr. Stevenson combines advanced surgical skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Dr. Stevenson is recognized for her expertise in:

• General Surgery and Robotic Surgery:
  Dr. Stevenson is trained and experienced with the Da Vinci Xi® Surgical System by Intuitive, a state-of-the-art technology that enhances precision and control in minimally invasive surgeries, which may lead to shorter hospital stays, fewer complications, and quicker recoveries compared to traditional open surgery.
• Breast Cancer Surgery:
  Offering surgical care for patients with breast cancer, utilizing the latest techniques for effective treatment and optimal outcomes.
• Benign Breast Surgery:
  Evaluating and treating non-cancerous (benign) breast conditions, such as cysts, lumps, and fibroadenomas, with a focus on patient comfort and peace of mind.
• Colonoscopy, Endoscopy & GI Screening:
  Providing comprehensive digestive health services, including colon cancer screening, polyp detection and removal, and upper endoscopy (EGD) for diagnosis and evaluation of gastrointestinal symptoms.

Dr. Stevenson is dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care for patients and families throughout southwestern Indiana. Since 2016, she has cared for patients as a general surgeon, bringing together advanced clinical training, research, and a genuine commitment to helping others.

She completed her undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Michigan before earning her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She then completed her general surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, serving as chief resident. 

Her experience includes both hospital and outpatient surgical care, and she has served patients in Indiana and Ohio. Dr. Stevenson is recognized for her thoughtful, personalized approach—taking time to understand each patient’s unique needs, answer questions, and support them through every step of their surgical journey. She is also committed to patient education and advancing the field through research and teaching.

Outside of work, Dr. Stevenson enjoys spending time with her family, supporting local community events, and staying active outdoors.
