Christopher M. Nixon, MD, JD, MBA, FAAFP, FCLM, is a board-certified family medicine physician with extensive experience in emergency medicine, legal medicine, and medical leadership. Serving patients at Daviess Community Hospital, Dr. Nixon brings a multidisciplinary perspective that blends over three decades of clinical expertise with a deep understanding of medical law and healthcare policy.

Dr. Nixon earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad CETEC School of Medicine in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and completed his family practice residency at Fort Wayne Medical Education Program. He holds a Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Legal Medicine. A Fellow of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Legal Medicine, Dr. Nixon also holds memberships in the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, and the Colorado Bar Association.

His career includes serving as an emergency department medical director, staff emergency physician, and family practice provider, with clinical roles in both rural and high-volume urban settings. Dr. Nixon has held leadership positions such as Medical Director of Fayette Regional Health System and Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, and he continues to serve as President of Colorado Legal Associates, Inc.

A Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve, Dr. Nixon has served as Chief Flight Surgeon for NORAD/NORTHCOM, commander of multiple aerospace medicine squadrons, and a deployed flight surgeon in Afghanistan. His distinguished service has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Sheriff’s Department Life Saving Medal and Police Officer of the Year from the American Legion.
