Imaging & Radiology Services Washington, IN

Providing a Wide Range of Services Utilizing Advanced Technology

Imaging services, applies to a wide range of procedures that provide medical professionals with a look at the body’s internal structures. X-rays would be an example of a radiology service. At Daviess Community Hospital, we have invested in advanced technology that allows us to obtain a detailed view of a patient’s tissues, organs, skeletal system, and internal functions. These tests are invaluable in both diagnosing conditions and checking to see how far a disease has advanced to determine whether or not current treatment is effective.

Learn more about our imaging services:

  • Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan – A CT scan produces similar images to an MRI, but it uses a combination of X-rays and computer technology to create images. Images produced by CT scans do not have the same quality as an MRI result, but they are generally much cheaper can be performed faster, making them ideal when a patient needs an emergency imaging test.
  • Positron Emission Tomography Scanning (PET) – These scans are typically used to evaluate the body’s inner functions. Before the test, patients are injected with a small radioactive dye that will highlight the areas of the body that need to be examined. By observing these highlighted areas using the scanner, we can determine numerous things about the patient’s condition, including how far cancer may have spread or if they are suffering from any brain disorders.

Outpatient imaging procedures are available Mondays through Fridays beginning at 8:00 a.m., except for X-rays, which we provide 24/7 year-round in case of emergencies.

Radiology/Imaging Procedure- What to Expect

We offer a wide variety of imaging tests and each one requires different forms of preparation. Like our lab tests, we have created radiology preparation forms with specific information about imaging procedures, including how to prepare, what to expect, and the care you may require after your procedure is over.
