We Host Numerous Wellness Support Groups

When dealing with a new experience, medical or otherwise, sometimes simply sharing your experience can be a major source of relief. We host numerous support groups at our hospital and can also refer you to outside resources that may be beneficial. Learn more about the services we offer and how to sign up from the list below.

Alzheimer’s Support Group

Support, education, and networking for those with Alzheimer’s disease and their families and friends. Free. Meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Education Center at Daviess Community Hospital. For more information call the Daviess Community Hospital’s Transitions Services at 812-254-8620, Extension 1622 or email Mary Rund, RN. The Support Group will not meet on Thanksgiving. Instead, the meeting will be held on the third Thursday in December at 6 p.m. in Room 3 of the hospital’s Education Center.

Breast Cancer Sharing and Surviving Group

Support, education, and networking for those experiencing breast cancer and their families and friends. Free. Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Education Center at Daviess Community Hospital. For more information call the Daviess Community Hospital Oncology Clinic at 812-254-8892.

Families Facing Cancer Support Group

Support, education, and networking for those with cancer and their families and friends. Free. Meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. in the Education Center at Daviess Community Hospital. Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group

Support to help caregivers and parents who have experienced the devastation of a baby’s death due to early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or in the first few months of life. Free. Meets in the Education Center at Daviess Community Hospital. Call Daviess Community Hospital’s Obstetrics Department at 812-254-8880 for meeting schedule or email Shawna O'Kelley-Brinson, RN.

Neat Feet Clinic

A DCH nurse trims and files toenails and assesses feet for abnormalities. Second Friday of every month at Senior and Family Services in Washington. $25. By appointment. Call the Daviess Community Hospital Specialty Clinic at 812-254-8855 to schedule an appointment or email Sharon Mead, RN.

Childbirth Class

A series of prepared childbirth classes includes relaxation and breathing techniques as well as details about all phases of labor and birth, medical intervention, and a tour of our OB department and more.
