The PAI/MC is responsible for the central coordination of the Rehabilitation
Unit Preadmission Screening process under which each prospective patient’s
condition and medical history are reviewed to determine whether the patient
is likely to benefit from an intensive inpatient program assessment. This
is completed working with the Rehabilitation Medical Director or designee
who is responsible for determining the eligibility and approving each
patient for admission.
Throughout this process, the PAI/MC will maintain in contact with referral
sources.Traveling to other facilities to assess patients and track patients
who are sent out through the Emergency Department. In coordination with
the Program Director of the Rehabilitation Nursing Unit and the Rehabilitation
Medical Director, the PAI/MC will facilitate the admission process.In
addition, this individual is responsible for policies and procedures relating
to the activities of this position and will maintain cooperation, communication
and interaction with patients, and their family members and /or signigicant
others, rehabilitation staff, hospital staff, medical staff, community
agencies, vendors, etc. Customers served include patients, families, physicians,
Case Managers, community, peers, medical groups, internal staff, regulatory
agencies and other providers
Current IN licensure is required.
Minimum of 3 years RN rehabilitation healthcare.
Background knowledge of healthcare management preferred.
Current BCLS certification.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
