First Baby of 2018 and Last Baby of 2019 are Siblings
Ayla and Garrick Walls have spent more than one New Year’s Day at Daviess Community Hospital. On January 4, 2018, Lyra Ann Walls came into the world and became the first baby born at Daviess Community Hospital that year. Just two years later, the Walls family welcomed their third daughter, Lynix, on December 31, 2019. While it wasn’t planned, they almost had another “1st Baby of the New Year”.
Dr. Jonathan Frances, assisted by Dr. John Stafford, delivered Ayla’s baby via cesarean section at 8am on December 31st. “I had not met Dr. Stafford before I came in to have my baby,” Ayla said. “Both doctors were great and checked in on my after my daughter was born.”
Ayla had praise for the nursing staff as well. “We have had a great experience all three times we have been here for the birth of our daughters,” remarked Ayla. “Many of the nurses are the same ones I had before and they were awesome!”
