Admissions Office

Open Admissions Policy. It is the policy of Daviess Community Hospital, Washington, Indiana, to admit and treat all persons without regard to race, color, sex, handicap, national origin, or religious creed. Admission requirements and assignments of hospital facilities are the same for all persons.

There are no distinctions in eligibility for receiving any patient care services. Hospital facilities are available to all patients and visitors. Individuals and organizations having occasion to refer patients for admission or recommend Daviess Community Hospital are advised to do so within the hospital’s policy to provide quality healthcare to all persons.

    Cafeteria Hours: Monday through Friday Only. Closed on weekends.

    Patient Complaints/Concerns
    Patient Privacy

    Due to patient privacy requirements, any information about the patient’s diagnosis or treatment must come directly from the patient to concerned family members or friends. No information will be given out by the switchboard operator or nursing personnel. The patient may be reached by dialing 812-254-2760 and asking for the patient by name.     No Smoking Policy

    There is no smoking allowed on the Daviess Community Campus and clinics. Thank you for your cooperation and support of our smoke- and tobacco-free campus policy.

    Parking

    Visitors are welcome to use the main parking lot in the front of the hospital.

    Sending Gifts to Patients

    The hospital does not have a gift shop in house. There are several floral/gifts shops in Washington that can deliver to DCH.

    Letters, flowers, and other gifts can be sent to the hospital with the patient’s name and room number. We deliver gifts to patient rooms daily. Mail delivered to the hospital after a patient’s discharge will be forwarded to their home. For the safety of our patients, flowers and plants are not allowed in the Intensive Care Unit. Additionally, we ask that you do not bring Mylar balloons into the hospital as some patients may be allergic.

    Patient Billing

    A customer service representative is available to answer specific financial questions or to receive a payment Monday through Friday near the main lobby of the hospital.

    Telephones/Cellular Phones

    In most cases, cell phones and pagers may be used in the hospital. Please check with the nurse prior to using your mobile device. DCH offers FREE WI-FI (dch-public).

    Short-Term Lodging
