| During October, Daviess Community Hospital will celebrate National Physical Therapy Month by providing free fitness screenings. The screenings will be offered Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m., beginning Monday, October 3. They will be conducted in the hospital’s Rehabilitation Therapies Department, located off the main lobby at DCH, and continue throughout the month of October. The public is invited to participate in all the screenings and there is no charge.
The week of October 3rd, DCH therapists will offer a flexibility screen and during the week of October 10, therapists will offer a fall risk screen. An endurance assessment screen will be provided the week of October 17 and the week of October 24, an edema screen will be conducted. The screenings will be provided by both physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapy assistants (PTAs).
In addition to physical therapy services, Daviess Community Hospital provides occupational therapy, speech therapy, and audiology services for all ages on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Services range from prevention and wellness to remediation and treatment of sports injuries, work-related injuries, neurological conditions, orthopaedic conditions, developmental disabilities, and generalized weakness and debility. |
