Dr. John Clayton Joins DCH Physician Network

Daviess Community Hospital’s Board of Governors met today and learned that Dr. John Clayton, General Surgeon will become part of the hospital’s physician network beginning January 3, 2012.
Dr. Clayton has been an active member of the hospital’s Medical Staff, serving as a trusted physician leader at DCH in such roles as Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery, and as a member of various Board Committees, for over 20 years. He has provided surgical care and treatment to a countless number of patients while working with the hospital to enhance and expand general surgery services as well.

According to John Rossfeld, CEO, the new relationship will support Dr. Clayton’s strong commitment to both the hospital and the community in the delivery of high quality surgical services. “We will also be working with him to develop new efficiencies and systems in order to ensure that he has a rewarding practice environment as healthcare changes occur in the future,” said Rossfeld.

At this time, Dr. Clayton’s office will be in the same location with no changes to his contact information.

The Board also learned that Dr. Richard Collins is now providing radiology services through the hospital’s agreement with Summit Radiology Group. He replaces former DCH Radiologist, Dr. Dennis King.

Dr. Collins is an experienced general radiologist who earned his DO from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a fellowship program in body imaging at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio and a residency program in radiology at Grandview Hospital in Dayton and Mount Clemens General Hospital in Michigan. He is board certified in radiology with the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology and a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College of Radiology and the American Medical Association.

Because of the hospital’s arrangement with Summit, Dr. Collins will have access to radiologists who specialize in the various subspecialty fields. Those physicians will provide support for interpretation of tests. The arrangement means DCH patients have access to additional expertise without traveling to other hospitals for testing.
