The American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division, Inc., is honored to announce that Daviess Community Hospital in Washington is a Five Star Investor and Five Star Community Investor in the fight against cancer through the American Cancer Society At Work program.
Five Star Investor and Five Star Community Investor Awards are for work sites active in fighting cancer on multiple fronts through the ACS At Work program.
"Daviess Community Hospital is a leader in the fight against today's No.1 health concern, " said Christine Hopson area executive director, American Cancer Society Great Lakes Division, Inc. "By investing their time and energy into fighting cancer, we will save more lives and see less diagnosed cases."
Nearly 120 work sites across Michigan and Indiana qualified as a Five Star Investor and 25 hospitals qualified as a Five Star Community Investor.
To earn recognition as a Five Star Investor or Five Star Community Investor, work sites must participate in a variety of American Cancer Society initiatives.
"Since kicking off this program less than a year ago, I am in awe of the number of companies and hospitals who have committed themselves in fighting cancer on so many fronts," said Betty Hollander, director of corporate development for the American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division. "The success of this program truly shows that work sites have a high level of interest in the health and well being of their employees."
Qualified companies will be listed in the Great Lakes Division 2002 Annual Report and on the Society's national web site, www.cancer.org |
