Dr. Robinson is a Board-certified general surgeon with exceptional leadership
attributes who has a highly respected reputation for successful outcomes
in patient care/surgery.
Dr. Robinson has a proven track record of leading and staying ahead of
the curve in bringing new ideas, innovations, and technologies to improve,
enhance and provide excellent patient care, as well as applying fellowship
training, experience, and knowledge of burns, trauma and surgical critical
care, while offering day-to-day support to referring physicians.
He was the first general surgeon in western NC to offer PPH (stapled hemorrhoidectomy)
and the first in western NC to offer THD (transanal hemorrhoidal dearterialization).
Dr. Robinson was also the first general surgeon in western NC to offer
TAP (transversus abdominis plane) blocks with liposomal bupivacaine for
post-operative pain management.
In 2008, Dr. Robinson identified, crafted, and implemented a hospital-wide
Sepsis Protocol to improve survival rates of patients with sepsis which
resulted in the achievement of a sepsis survival rate at the 95th percentile
Dr. Robinson has also led an initiative to upgrade and enhance the Difficult
Airway Management capabilities for both the Operating Room and Emergency
Dr. Robinson served as an Associate Professor of Trauma Surgery at teh
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
